Beautiful Country Residence in St Albans

Having known Zoe and Andy for many years, it was a pleasure to welcome them to the Moneyhill Interiors showroom to begin designing the kitchen for their beautiful country residence in St Albans.

With such a generous open-plan space to work with, the design needed to feel suitably impressive while creating clearly defined areas for cooking, entertaining and everyday family life. At the heart of the kitchen is a substantial AGA, chosen to reflect Zoe’s love of cooking and framed by elegant bespoke cabinetry.

A large central island provides both an impressive focal point and plenty of space for preparation and informal seating. It is finished with a striking Venaria Reale quartzite worktop, whose natural movement and warm tones complement the character of the original exposed timber beams beautifully.

Around the kitchen, dedicated zones include a stylish bar area and a practical breakfast cupboard, allowing everyday appliances and essentials to be neatly concealed when not in use.

The bespoke furniture by Jane Cheel Furniture was hand-painted on site, with a contrasting finish chosen for the island to subtly define it from the surrounding cabinetry. Aged brass handles from Armac Martin add warmth throughout and coordinate beautifully with the other brass details and accessories within the room.

The finished kitchen brings together traditional craftsmanship, natural materials and carefully considered modern functionality, creating a luxurious yet welcoming space that feels completely at home within this characterful St Albans property.
